We’re careful to build on three basic foundations: Goal Setting, Objectivity Building and Practice. We’ve invested in equipment and software to allow most types of practice, including prompter practice, enabling us to work in your studio, or any space you have available. Here are some of the topics we cover in TV Talent Coaching:
- Eliminating repetitive patterns: Some patterns are associated with broadcast news. They tend to stifle a natural, conversational quality and they begin to look wooden and in the worst cases, a bit silly.
- Developing a style that relates to the story and the individuals in it with reactiveness but without coming across as falsely emotional or “acting the news.” Authenticity is key.
- Our coaching is designed to be “future oriented.” It focuses less on “feeling bad about mistakes that have been made” and more on enthusiastically building strategies to improve performance in the future.
- Audiences are more likely to accept a communication style that is familiar to them. A conversational style is key. There’s a lot about the medium that tends to stifle this conversational quality. We build it.
